Paediatric Services

Introduction

At Complete we strive to ensure the best provision of a first class paediatric service for all the children and families we support.

Our service ensures that the structure of care provision is derived from the Government’s ‘National Service Framework documents of  8 ‘standards’ that state that ‘any service provision must be in line with the needs of the child or young person and their families needs’ including those with complex health needs.

Our service identifies all the needs of a child with complex health needs and ensures that all support is put in place appropriately and safely. This is delivered in the context of a care package which consists of fully trained personal assistants supervised and supported by a Paediatric Nurse.

All of our personal assistants have to complete a comprehensive competency based training programme before they provide any one to one care. All training is provided by an experienced Children’s Nurse Specialist.

Our service provision supports children and young people with different conditions ranging from Spinal Cord Injury, Acquired Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy and other Neurological Illnesses.

Mission Statement

The Mission here at Complete is to ultimately support the child or young person with complex health needs and their family in the community. Achieving the balance of a ‘normal family lifestyle’ is the corner stone to delivering the most appropriate care provision.

Every child and young person with complex health needs has a right to be socially included in all aspects of society and have access to all services in the community. At Complete we strive to ensure that each child is supported to reach their full potential regardless of their health or social needs.

Service Intent

The children’s service will ensure that all care provision is based on current ‘best practice’, following the latest research findings. We as a service work constantly with other allied health and educational professionals to ensure that children and young people with complex health needs are fully integrated into their community and live happy and fulfilled lives.
