Experience: I am a Registered Children's Nurse and trained at the University of Central England (Birmingham City University) after which I practiced Paediatric Nursing at Birmingham Heartlands & Solihull NHS Trust. Following this I worked as a Community Staff Nurse in School Nursing for Birmingham East and North Primary Care Trust. I then worked for Solihull Care Trust as a Community Children's Nurse. I have been with the Complete Group since March 2009.

Qualifications: Diploma of Higher Education in Nursing and Assessment of the Ill/Injured Child & Young Person

Experience:I am a registered child nurse with 14 years experience. I trained at Charlse West School of Nursing which was attached to Great Ormond Street Hospital. My first job was on a paediatric general surgical ward at Kings College Hospital. I later moved to the private sector and worked at the  Portland Hospital for women and sick children.

I gained a lot of  neonatal and intensive care experience whilst working there. I then moved to work in the community in the London area from 2000. I looked after children with complex care needs Most of them had tracheotomies and needed ventilation. I joined Complete Group in February of this year as a Specialist  Paediatric Nurse.

Sue McCarthySue McCarthy RGN

Experience: I trained at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and qualified in 1990.  My first job was on a general medical ward, where I developed an interest in care for the elderly.  I spent several years in elderly nurse care  and gained a lot of experience in working with clients with dementia.  In the late nineties I worked as a dermatology nurse in a busy out-patient clinic and have been able to use knowledge gained from this in my general nursing practice since.  I joined The Complete Group in 2005, initially working as a Nurse Team leader.  I became a Clinical Nurse Specialist in 2006 and I am also an NVQ assessor.

Qualifications: RGN and ENB N11 and A1 Assessor Award


David PriceDavid Price RGN RMN BSc

Experience: I qualified in 1989 in London.  Dual trained RGN/RMN. I had several nursing posts at different grades before working as a Charge Nurse in a Day Hospital Setting, facilitating groups and individual counselling. Worked as a Ward Manager for several years before becoming Nurse Manager at a Brain Injury Centre in 2002. Completed BSc (Hons) in Psychology in addition to many other training courses. I joined Complete Group in February 2009 as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.

Qualifications: RGN, RMN and BSc (Hons) Psychology.


Caroline McPherson Caroline McPherson

Experience - I attended the University of Salford in 1997 and successfully completed a Diploma in Nursing. My first post was in an intensive care / high dependency unit at the Lancashire Teaching Hospital. Since qualifying I have gained a diverse and vast amount of knowledge, skills and experience in many critical care settings, for example, cardiothoracics, neuro, orthopaedics, oncology, and general medicine / surgery. I have gained this invaluable experience from a variety of hospitals including The Pennine Acute NHS Hospital, Royal Bolton Hospital NHS Trust and the Nuffield Hospital in Leeds. I have many professional interests including legal and ethical issues, respiratory and tissue viability to name but a few. I have also gained my certificate in advanced critical care at the University of Central Lancashire.

I have also attended many other courses throughout my nursing career which have benefited me. In addition, in 2004 I attended the University of Salford and successfully completed a degree in Midwifery (BSc hons). I joined The Complete Group as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in June 2009, where I have the opportunity to utilise skills, knowledge and experience that I have gained throughout my career so far.

Helen HickinHelen Hickin

Experience - I am a registered nurse with 25 years of experience in a variety of settings. I trained as an Enrolled Nurse at Sandwell General Hospital in 1982. My first post was in the intensive care unit were I stayed for 10 years. I later completed my conversion course at New Cross University of Central England. I went on to work for several Nursing Agencies and gained a vast amount of experience in a vareity of settings which included, district nursing, womens health and general medicine and surgery. I joined The Complete Group on 10th August 2009 as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for the Birmingham Area.

Abigail YatesAbigail Yates

Start Date: 05/10/09

Experience: I am a registered Adult Nurse with 9 years experience.  I trained at Bournemouth University and once qualified had my first job in a busy Accident and Emergency Unit in Bournemouth Hospital.  I worked there for 3 years before moving to Basingstoke Emergency Department for a year.  I then started at the Royal Berkshire Emergency Department after receiving a promotion.  I then had a child and had a year out of nursing, and lived and worked abroad teaching diving in Tenerife. I then moved to the Private Health Sector and ran a 4 bedded Critical Care Unit, nursing orthopaedics, cosmetic surgery, urology, gynaecology and paediatric ENT patients.  I would also participate in recovery when the Critical Care Unit was quiet.  I was the Blood Transfusion Practitioner for the Private Hospital, which entailed training all the nurses and competency assessing them.  I left this job to be a Clinical Nurse Specialist for The Complete Group for the South.

Qualifications: Advanced Diploma in Clinical Nursing / BSC, Trauma Nursing Core Course, Advanced Life Support, European Paediatric Life Support, Suturing and Prescribing Local Anaesthetic, Plaster of Paris Administration


Victoria JacksonVictoria Jackson
Clinical Nurse Specialist (East)

 

Start date: 05/10/09

Experience: I trained as a registered nurse (adult branch) between 2000 and 2003 in Lancaster, before taking up my first qualified post for University Hospital Birmingham NHS Trust.  I spent the following 6 years working at both Selly Oak and Queen Elizabeth Hospitals, gaining mainly surgical and peri-operative nursing experience.  My most recent post was within the post anaesthesia care unit, where I gained valuable high dependency nursing skills.  I joined The Complete Group in October 2009.
