Marie Waddell
Clinical Nurse Manager (South)
Marie began her nursing career in Glasgow in 1980. Once qualified, she gained experience in various fields of nursing, including working with patients in the Spinal Injury Units.
Marie joined Complete Group in November 2008 as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (south). Marie managed her own caseload of clients all of whom had complex health needs, several being ventilator dependent. Her main responsibilities included training the personal assistants working with her clients and ensuring the quality of the care delivered to them secured their safety at home.
As a result of the promotion of the Clinical Nurse Manager in the region, Marie applied for the post and was successful.
Marie now manages a group of Clinical Nurse Specialists in the south and oversees the management of all the clients in the region. She has the overall responsibility for the discharge planning and implementation of the approved care package of clients leaving hospital and ITU’s and moving home.
She said: “I was fortunate enough to be appointed to post of Clinical Nurse Manager (south) in June 2009 and although I had not been with the company long they took into account my previous management experience in other areas.
“My new role is demanding but very enjoyable and I have had a lot of support from the management team.
“Complete as a company have provided me with good career development and excellent access to training enabling me to further develop my clinical skills.”
