Client Testimonials
"James being in a wheelchair never stopped him living life to the full. Where there was a will there was a way, was the motto, so whatever his friends did he was always included. He led as normal a life as possible and had a go at most things, including clubs and a variety of sports. His sports came under a scheme called Junior Heroes held at the Olympic Village, Stoke Mandeville. If the wheelchair couldn’t get him where he wanted to go, his adapted quad bike was used, giving him a good quality of life."

Kevin was born in Boston, Lincolnshire. He joined the Navy when he was 16 and wanted to do something positive with his life. He first joined surface ships, but always felt that there was something missing and it wasn’t quite the life he wanted. After many talks with his sea daddy he joined the submarine service, which he absolutely loved. He had a variety of jobs on submarines, including being one of the divers initially and eventually worked in the control room. Kevin loved all the travelling involved and exploring new places, especially when they were in the States, the weather was hot and they were all round the pool trying to cool off.
Kevin has always kept himself fit, so it is very ironic that he has suffered two heart attacks whilst in the gym under almost identical circumstances. However, the second one has done the damage, but thank goodness he is at home and has improved beyond all recognition from three years ago. He has always been such a fighter in life for all he believed in and the knock backs regarding his health. This time a lot of help has been needed – the improvement couldn’t have been achieved without the care, devotion and encouragement from all the PAs for Kevin and the support and belief from all the managers involved with him. The PAs are very good cooks (Gordon Ramsay beware!) and we have very creative and delicious meals. We have a lot of fun and laughter in our package and for both Kevin and I it is like having an extended family.

We sponsored Amy and Claire, PAs for Matthew Gwilliam, £100 (between them) to complete the Bridgnorth sponsored walk in aid of BIRD (Brain Injury rehabilitation and development)
The photo shows some of Matthew Gwilliam's care team and their friends halfway round the Bridgnorth walk. Amy and Claire walked to raise funds for BIRD (Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Development) and both completed the 22 mile circuit, raising about £800 by their efforts and blisters.

My name is Steven and I suffered a C2/3 complete fracture following an accident at work when I crushed my neck in an industrial accident. I have 2 carers 24 hours a day and I don't know how I would cope without them. My life is simple day to day tasks and I'm limited in what I can do, but I have just received an electric wheelchair with a chin control to operate it, which gives me a little bit more independence. My carers are very understanding towards my condition. I have recently come out of hospital after having pneumonia 3 times, but I'm a lot better now thanks to the help of my carers. I thought my life was over after my accident but with the help of my carers my life is now bearable day by day.
I enjoy going to pub on the high street and drinking Jack Daniels and Coke - this is my favourite drink! I have a dog called sniff who I like to taking to the park to give her the exercise she needs and get some fresh air for myself. I like to be out and about as I am an outgoing person; I don't like to be stuck indoors as this depresses me. I did not think life would go on or that I would be able to do these things, until I got my team of carers that is. I now live each day as it comes.
I have 2 children, Elizabeth 13 and Ben 9, who visit me on a regular basis which makes me happy. I have no transport at the moment as I am still waiting for my settlement from my accident and hopefully I will be able to buy myself a suitable vehicle to be transported around in. I have some very good friends that always come to visit me and take me to the pub with my carers. My bungalow has always got visitors in I get people all day everyday coming to see me and see how I am. I have a very close family which helps out day by day with my shopping and bills.
I am quite happy considering my injuries. My carers keep me going and always smiling and laughing. They are always there when I need a shoulder to cry on and they are very supportive and considerate. I've become very close to my carers, they are almost like family to me now.
Steven
