Barbara Scandrett is Managing Director
of Complete Case Management (Holdings) Limited. In 2003
she led a Management Buy-out of the Company that was nationally
one of the top fifty growing organisations in that year
(list compiled by Deloitte & Touche and The Independent
on Sunday newspaper.
Barbara Scandrett co-founded the company
in 1995 to provide services for severely disabled people.
Currently over 400 people are employed by the company.
The Complete Group consists of two Limited
Companies
Complete Case Management Limited (CCM
Ltd), which provides expert witness reports for use in
litigation claims (in the area of care, equipment, physiotherapy
and case management) and Case Management services to clients.
Complete Personal Assistance Limited (CPA
Ltd), which provides bespoke packages of care for High
Dependency Clients, Tetraplegics and people who are suffering
from Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Cerebral Palsy,
Acquired Brain Injury and Strokes.
Barbara Scandrett has been instrumental
in The Complete Group becoming:
- Nationally recognised as a provider of high quality
care to well over 100 clients, and hence becoming a
market leader in this very specialised form of care.
- Widely recognised as producing independent and fair
reports regarding client’s equipment, care and
Case Management requirements.
Barbara Scandrett has extensive experience
in providing practical support and advice to clients with
severe disabilities. Since beginning employment working
with young people in schools and youth clubs and then operating
with clients impaired by physical and learning disabilities
(both in residential and day care settings), she has:
- Worked as a Social Worker at the Midlands Centre
for Spinal Injuries.
- Worked as Resettlement Co-ordinator at the Midlands
Centre for Spinal Injuries organising the safe discharge
of people who have recently become spinally injured,
from hospital into the community.
- Developed and worked as Manager of Transhouse, a
unique and innovative project that has provided transitional
accommodation for people who have experienced spinal
injury. Barbara Scandrett continues to have overall
responsibility for this project.
Barbara Scandrett is a trained Social
Worker, holding a certificate in Social Services, obtained
in 1998. In addition, she is qualified to teach on the
subject of Health Education and has lectured extensively
to Health and Social Services personnel.
Barbara Scandrett is a member of the Spinal
Injuries Association, currently contributing to the development
of specialised independent living facilities in conjunction
with Special Needs Advisors in Housing Associations and
disabled groups.Barbara Scandrett is an affiliated member
of the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers
(BABICM).
Barbara Scandrett is on the Executive
Committee of the United Kingdom Home Care Association (UKHCA)
Barbara Scandrett has been accredited
with the Law Society as an Expert Report Writer. She is
commissioned to make assessments on client’s requirements
by representatives of both Claimants and Defendants (currently
on a 50/50 basis). Latterly, she has been increasingly
instructed on a joint basis by Solicitors.
Barbara Scandrett has furthermore been
regularly requested to act as an independent Case Manager
and provide impartial practical assessments on the needs
of individual clients.
Barbara Scandrett specialises in organising
Packages of Care according to the client’s exact
requirements. This involves providing appropriate levels
of assistance, liasing with clients, Health Authorities
and Social Services Departments and negotiating (with the
various statutory bodies) the necessary financial funding.
Barbara Scandrett has gained a reputation
for providing a high level of care to clients up to those
dependent on ventilators. As such, CPA Limited is also
a registered Nursing Agency.
Barbara Scandrett lectures to interested
groups on the subject of Independent Living, Social Policy
and relevant changes in legislation.
Barbara Scandrett has arranged courses
on all aspects of care, both internally (to ensure the
company’s employees receive all the information they
require to guarantee competency in their jobs) and externally
(to any other interested individuals or groups). As such,
she was responsible for the Company being awarded the Investors
in People standard of quality.
Barbara Scandrett, as an organiser of
an advice service for spinally injured clients, was awarded
the ‘Chairman’s Award’ for new initiatives
in Shropshire during 1995.
Barbara Scandrett guided ‘The Complete
Group’ towards the prestigious ‘Financial Mail
on Sunday Enterprise 2000 Award’ for customer care. |
