Moving and Handling Updates

Our moving and handling update provides a refresher on mobile / tracking hoist transfers, sling insertion, car transfers, standing frames (physiotherapy guidance only) and slide sheet usage. This ensures safe working conditions for both our personal assistants (PAs) and clients.

The updates are designed for the care package and therefore specific skills required can be tailored to the client and personal assistant.

Training session involves:

• Practical session on various hoists and slings
• Transfer from bed to chair
• Use of slide board and sheet methods
• Posture
• Correct use of equipment
